

Maureen Shannon is a seasoned legal executive with nearly two decades of experience advising high-growth companies and global enterprises. She is a strategic, purpose-driven leader known for building high-performing teams, navigating complex regulatory environments, and delivering practical, business-focused counsel.
Maureen currently serves as General Counsel for a fintech group in the automotive sector. Previously, she was Associate General Counsel at Rivian, where she established and led the company’s global intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting programs, safeguarding innovations behind the world’s first electric truck. Prior to Rivian, she founded the intellectual property function at Rocket, securing foundational patent protection for the first fully online mortgage platform. During her tenure, she also served as acting General Counsel to Dan Gilbert’s portfolio of companies, including StockX, and led M&A initiatives across the enterprise.
Her experience spans fintech, financial services, automotive manufacturing, e-commerce, and real estate—bringing a rare breadth of perspective across highly regulated industries. Maureen is recognized for translating complex legal frameworks into clear, actionable strategies that enable informed decision-making at the executive level. She has deep expertise in corporate governance, compliance, intellectual property strategy, and high-stakes litigation.
Maureen holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law. She is also a certified Usui Reiki Master, integrating mindfulness and disciplined focus into her leadership approach.
